CELEBRATING GREEN DESIGN THIS EARTH MONTH
During this Earth Month, as architects and designers, we reflect on the importance of sustainability as it relates to the built environment. From studies showing that consumers are more likely to buy from businesses that are environmentally friendly, to the commitment we all share to reduce our carbon footprint, it’s clear that sustainable design is more than a trend. It’s a necessity.

CELEBRATING WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH AT ASD
March is Women’s History Month, specifically meant to lift up and celebrate women of all kinds, but at ASD, we take pride in our gender diversity year-round. Historically, architecture has been a male-dominated profession, but women are increasingly entering and making their mark on the field. ASD remains dedicated to paving the way for women to continue doing great things in design.
WELCOME TO THE MAE ON CASCADE
ASD recently celebrated the completion of the Mae on Cascade, a striking new multifamily project in the shadow of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. Named for Fannie Mae Duncan, the Mae takes inspiration from its namesake while also paying tribute to her social work. Fannie Mae was a jazz musician and owner of the famed Cotton Club in Colorado Springs in the 1950s. She welcomed anyone into her club that was age 21 or older, regardless of race – a rarity in that time.
